Term Deposits
The single biggest barrier for taking out a Term Deposit (TD) with a bank for the first time, are the hoops you need to jump through to open an account and complete all the AML (anti-money laundering) checks. This is the last thing you need to deal with if you just want to quickly take advantage of a hot rate, from a bank you don’t have a relationship with.
Well, we’ve got you covered
When you create an InvestNow account, you have access to six local and global banks, all within the one account – no need to open up an account with each bank separately.
If you see a hot rate from any of the six, you simply log in to your InvestNow account, click on the TD (rate and term) from the specific bank and we take it from there.
We lodge your order for the TD with the specific bank and are held by our independent custodian – it’s that easy!
The TDs are the exact same TDs that you’d get directly from a bank, with a similar range of features ie automatic rollover at maturity, interest payment frequency for longer-dated TDs etc. However, at times, the banks we work with may actually offer better rates to InvestNow customers than what they offer elsewhere – another reason to manage your TDs with InvestNow!
Establishing your InvestNow account
If you want to begin investing in the range of TDs available on InvestNow, create an account with us. Click the join button at the top right corner of our website and you’ll be on your way. To create an InvestNow account, you will need your IRD number, a current NZ drivers license or passport, a current NZ bank account number, your Resident Withholding Tax rate (RWT) and your Prescribed Investor Rate (PIR).
Once your InvestNow account is established, your account will provide you with access to portfolio performance/returns, detailed investment reports and any information you may need for your annual tax return.
And finally, here is the fine print – there is no fine print. InvestNow is a no-fees/no advice service.
