Just like our range of Managed Funds, we bring you Term Deposits from a number of banks here in New Zealand. The difference between investing in Term Deposits through InvestNow is that you don’t have to have an account with the bank you want to invest in, making the process extremely easy. One InvestNow account and multiple Term Deposit options, with the ability to change banks in just a few clicks.

Term Deposits through InvestNow are supported by the selected banks standard terms and conditions, as if you had purchased them directly! We currently have 5 banks offering Term Deposits on the InvestNow platform – ANZ, BNZ, China Construction Bank, Heartland Bank and SBS Bank.

Why choose Term Deposits through us?

Online access

InvestNow is an online platform, meaning our customers have the freedom to choose and manage their Term Deposits (TD) from anywhere they have access to the internet. No need to go into a bank or even speak with one – Just one convenient online account with us. It’s the same as any other Term Deposit you can get directly through a bank, backed by individual bank Terms and Conditions, but with easier options to choose and change banks.

Multiple options – Banks and Terms

We have five banks to choose from currently, ANZ, BNZ, China Construction Bank, Heartland Bank and SBS Bank; with the following term options – 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, 1 year, 18 month, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years. Keeping your funds in good hands is a top priority of ours, which is why we only partner with reputable banks that are trusted in New Zealand.

Payable interest

Currently, we offer interest at maturity, unless the Term Deposit is for a term of 2 years or longer, where interest will be paid semi-annually.

Rollover options

At maturity, you have the options to choose;

  • Not to rollover, at which time the principle and net interest will be credited to your InvestNow Transaction Account
  • Only the principal to roll over, with the net interest credited to your InvestNow Transaction Account
  • Principle and net interest roll over.

You will receive notification by email, five days prior to the maturity date of your Term Deposit, advising that you can amend your rollover preferences right up to the day before your Term Deposit is due to mature/roll over.

Custody

We don’t hold your money. We are simply a facilitator, providing access to quality investment options. Your Term Deposits through InvestNow, go directly to the bank you select, and stays with them until maturity.

What else you need to know about InvestNow’s Term Deposits

How it works

It’s just the same as when you invest in managed funds with us. You transfer cash from your nominated bank account, into your InvestNow Transaction Account. Once the cash is cleared, you can invest in TDs*.

Cut off & processing times

Your TD orders are processed once a day – they are sent to each bank at 12pm each working day (no orders are processed during weekends or national public holidays).

Term deposit breaks

Each bank has their own terms & conditions for accepting and processing any break request – you can find those details here. *The minimum investment for a Term Deposit is $2000.00 except for ANZ and China Construction Bank where the minimum is $10,000.00, and for Heartland Bank where their 3m special has a minimum of $10,000.00 and a maximum of $1,000,000.00.
