Changes to the Mercer NZ Cash and NZ Fixed Interest Funds and Temporary Suspension (10-18 August 2026)
Please be advised of an important update relating to the Mercer Macquarie NZ Cash Fund and Mercer Macquarie NZ Fixed Interest Fund.
Underlying Investment Manager Change
Mercer has provided the following details with regards to upcoming changes to the underlying investments of the Mercer Macquarie NZ Cash Fund and Mercer Macquarie NZ Fixed Interest Fund.
“… the Funds’ current underlying investments will be replaced with equivalent investments within the Mercer Investment Trusts New Zealand (MITNZ). The changes are expected to take effect on 18 August 2026, subject to regulatory approval.”
This will see the underlying investment manager of the funds change from Macquarie to Amova for NZ Cash and Harbour for NZ Fixed Interest.
As part of these changes, the Funds will also be renamed as follows:
• Mercer Macquarie NZ Cash Fund → Mercer NZ Cash Fund (MIF D)
• Mercer Macquarie NZ Fixed Interest Fund → Mercer NZ Fixed Interest Fund (MIF F)
Mercer has advised that there will be no changes to the Funds’ investment objectives or benchmarks as a result of these changes.
Temporary Suspension of Applications and Redemptions
To facilitate the transition, applications and redemptions for both Funds will be temporarily suspended from Monday (10 August 2026) to Tuesday (18 August 2026).
During this period:
• Applications into and Redemptions from the Funds can still be submitted, however they will not be processed or invested until after 18 August.
• Any KiwiSaver contribution and withdrawal requests can still be submitted, however they will not be processed or invested until after 18 August.
• Existing investments will remain invested.
• No action is required from investors.
Effectively, while you will still be able to load buy and/or sell orders for both Funds, these will not be processed until after the Mercer transition has completed on Tuesday 18 August.
