If there is one thing we obsess about, it is our customers, specifically, enabling our customers to build an investment portfolio that best suits their needs and goals (current and future), by providing them with the choice and flexibility to do so.
The team at InvestNow are huge fans of KiwiSaver and see it as a crucial tool for helping Kiwis position themselves in the best possible financial state for their retirement – hats off to the late Michael Cullen for that!
However (and there is a but), there is a design flaw in KiwiSaver that limits the potential it has to offer for Kiwis. It’s the fact that you can only have your KiwiSaver funds with one KiwiSaver provider. For some, having all your eggs in one basket may work, however, when it comes to risk (upside & downside), spreading your risk is fundamental to sound investing.
We’ve cracked it
Here at InvestNow, we knew there must be a way to build a KiwiSaver scheme that gives customers much more choice and flexibility than what would otherwise be available. Knowing that one fund manager is never going to have a monopoly on the best performing KiwiSaver funds, we see it as essential that Kiwis can choose funds from a range of managers, all within one KiwiSaver portfolio.
Enter stage right, the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme
Launched in October 2020, the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme set out to provide Kiwis the ability to build a KiwiSaver portfolio, by mixing and matching different funds and fund managers. As a member of the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme (as the original design dictates), you are a member of one single KiwiSaver scheme (ie the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme), but you can spread your risk and invest in a range of 35 Growth, Balanced, Conservative and Single-sector funds, from 14 different fund managers (with more funds to be added over time to the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme, due to customer demand and requests!). For example, you can mix and match funds from AMP Capital, Fisher Funds, Mint, or Milford, to build your very own customised InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme portfolio.
You are in the driver’s seat with the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme
The InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme is a non-advice service, and you don’t need a middleman. Plus, once you have selected your initial investments within your InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme portfolio, you can make changes to your investment mix when you need to.
And by the way, the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme has never charged any administration or membership fees – we have never believed in those as we simply don’t think they are warranted given the scale in KiwiSaver today. It’s also great to see our competitors finally catching up with our thinking on this aspect too.
Switching is easy!
Switching from your current KiwiSaver provider couldn’t be easier! Complete the online application form to join the InvestNow KiwiSaver Scheme (takes a couple of minutes) and select the funds you want to invest in – we’ll handle it from there. We work with the IR (Inland Revenue) to complete the transfer process from your previous KiwiSaver provider on your behalf. We keep you updated throughout the process and let you know when your funds have successfully been transferred.
It’s as easy as that!
